Known for its intimate setting and vibrant atmosphere, it hosted legendary artists, including a memorable performance by Art Blakey & The Jazz Messengers on October 11, 1980. Art Blakey's Jazz Messengers, founded in the mid-1950s by legendary drummer Art Blakey, was a seminal group in jazz history known for its hard bop style, which blended blues, gospel, and bebop influences. The band served as a launchpad for many future jazz greats, including Horace Silver, Wayne Shorter, and Wynton Marsalis. This 1980 session is now reissued for the first time in over three decades, pressed on heavyweight colour edition vinyl.
