frog song is fish narc’s fourth album, but it feels like it should be his first. While his work as a rap producer distinguished itself by referencing his background in the guitar tradition of the Pacific Northwest, frog song marks a clear return to those roots. Evergreen guitar rings moody textures, fish and emma harmonize voices and the drums pound steady on “old band” and “my ceiling,” both of which feel like they could’ve been pulled from the K back catalog of the 90s.
“interstate” and “gas station” are stripped-back, MTV unplugged-style, rendered in lush minimalism by executive producer Ava Smith. Drawing influence from the Olympia, WA underground scene and his deep love for playing guitar, frog song is fish narc’s best and most dynamic work to date.
In most fitting collaboration, frog song will be available as a long playing (LP) phonograph record and cassette tape from K, wherever you buy records!
fish narc is a rocker and producer based in Olympia, WA. As a member of GothBoiClique, his innovative guitar playing became iconic of the group and helped shape the style of the movement that they pioneered. As a songwriter, fish narc leans more on influences from SST, K and the diy scene he grew up in. Catch him with a full band for the true intended experience.
